Guitarist Liberty Ellman, our fellow Tam Valley All Star, will be joining us from Brooklyn, New York for this very special, badass show! We hope to see all our Fairfax friends!
The Tam Valley All Stars includes: guitarist/vocalist Heath De Fount-Haberlin, guitarist Liberty Ellman, drummer Lex Razon and bassist Steve Evans.The musical stylings of Tam Valley All Stars include rock, blues, funk, and reggae. Most of the Tam Valley All Stars are local musicians that actually grew up in Tam Valley area and attended Tam High together. There will also be some special musical guests. Heath De Fount-Haberlin, who lives in San Francisco, works as a professional musician (guitarist/vocalist) and is currently working on his debut album "Ugly Truths & Beautiful Lies" with bassist Chris Chaney (Alanis Morissette, Jane's Addiction, Robben Ford) and drummer Gary Novak (Alanis Morissette, Robben Ford). The album is being recorded at Sonora Recorders in Los Angeles, California and at In The Pocket Studio in Forestville, California. It's release date is set for early 2015.
Liberty Ellman is a top Brooklyn-based jazz guitarist who has preformed with such jazz artists as Henry Threadgill, Greg Osby, and Vijay Iyer. Ellman has also accompanied stand out vocal artists like Ledisi, Somi, and Jen Chapin (Harry Chapin's daughter).
Lex Razon is the drummer from Vinyl (funk, Latin jazz, dub and reggae), reggae legend Ernest Ranglin, Bad Jones (formerly known as Soul Pie), the Razon Trio, Breakin' Bread and Audio Soul Syndicate.
Bassist Steve Evans is one of the most sought after musicians in San Francisco Bay Area. He has backed numerous icons of R&B including Etta James, Bo Diddley, Mary Wells, Charlie Musselwhite, Big Mama Thornton, Pee Wee Ellis, The Drifters, Joan Baez, New Riders of the Purple Sage, Maria Muldaur and rock artists Bob Weir and Kingfish. In the last decade and a half, Steve has recorded and/or toured nationally and internationally with numerous blues/rock guitar greats including slide guitar virtuoso Roy Rogers, Pat Travers, Harvey Mandel, Elvin Bishop, Chris Cain, Coco Montoya, Terry Haggerty (Sons of Champlin) and more.
